From the Fandango of Padre Soler to the Flamenco of Joan Guinjoan, the recital illustrates this Iberian spirit.


The 11 February 2023 at 8.00 p.m. in the Auditori Josep Carreras in Vila-Seca, the pianists Emili Brugalla and Vesko Stambolov will Vila-Seca, the pianists Emili Brugalla and Vesko Stambolov offer us the concert concert Sons Iberics. From Padre Soler's Fandango to Guinjoan's Flamenco, the recital illustrates this Iberian spirit created in our country.  A recital for two pianos that closes with the triptych Flamenco by the composer from Riudoms, a heartfelt tribute to the art of Flamenco
which inspired him so much in several of his works. In this recital they present works from their new CD dedicated to Iberian music with works by Antoni Soler, Carles Suriñach,  Xavier Montsalvatge, Robert Gerhard and Joan Guinjoan.

The piano duet BRUGALLA & STAMBOLOV was born in 2011 from the meeting of two very different personalities as diverse as Emili Brugalla and Vesko Stambolov who join their talent to the the dazzling amalgam of a piano duo full of intensity and virtuosity. Motivared in the desire to make known the music for two pianos and four hands especially from the 20th century, both pianists have cultivated this repertoire in numerous performances in our country and abroad. In addition to classical works for duo such as the Sonata for two pianos and percussion by Béla Bartók, the repertoire includes rarely performed cycles by Xavier Montsalvatge, Joan Guinjoan, Robert Gerhard Guinjoan, Robert Gerhard, Carles Suriñach, Juli Garreta, etc., and premieres by composers such as Benet Casablancas, Josep Maria Guix, Joan Magrané and Marc Migó.
In 2015, they opened the great exhibition on Picasso at the National Gallery of the Arts in les Arts de Sofia (Bulgaria) with a music recital around the Russian Ballets.

The piano duo Brugalla & Stambolov have also excelled in their work as soloists with the concerts for two keyboards by J. S. Bach alongside the OCIM at the Festivals of Ciutadella and Maó (Barcelona). Ciutadella and Maó Festivals (2014), the Orquestra Camerata Eduard Toldrà (2017 season) la l'Orquestra de Cambra.

The piano duo Brugalla & Stambolov have just published their first album in the Columna Música label  with the ballets "The Rite of Spring" by Stravinsky and "Cinderella" by Prokofiev, which has received excellent reviews. The presentation of the CD took  place in October 2021 at the Palau de la Música de Catalunya under the title of 'Piano Ballet'.

The duo's next CD 'Iberian sounds' is dedicated to the Iberian music for two pianos and covers the music of A. Soler, J. Guinjoan, R. Gerhard, C. Suriñach and  X. Montsalvatge.

Emili Brugalla and Vesko Stambolov teach as master's degree teachers of piano duet and chamber music at the Conservatori de la Música chamber music at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu (Barcelona).
